27 Stamford - Peterborough

We are pleased to announce, we have been awarded the contract to operate the 27 service between Stamford and Peterborough, from Monday 1st June. 

The service passes through villages including Wittering, Wansford and Castor and is funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. It will operate from 07:00am Monday to Saturday, with six journeys into Peterborough and four towards Stamford every day, with journeys to and from The King's School, Peterborough, during School Terms.

Station Road, HeckingtonDate: Monday 25th May to Monday 29th June 2026

Service affected: 37

Due to station road being shut in Heckington, buses will be on the following diversion. 

37 service (morning) – Normal route to Helpringham (Nags head), then turn around in the Green (triangle road on the right), then follow the road to Scredington, at T-junction after village turn left, at the next T-junction it will follow the Mareham Lane into Sleaford, where it will turn right over the Railway line and continue to the Market Place. 

37 service (afternoon) – Normal route to Market Place, then it will turn left at the Railway crossing, onto Station Road (s/p Scredington and Helpringham), through Scredington and Helpringham, where it will turn around at the Green (triangle), back on its normal line of route. 

Stops missed: Fen Road in Little Hale, Magna Village Hall and Grove Street in Great Hale, and all stops in Heckington.

Chequers Hill, FlamsteadDate: Thursday 18th to Friday 19th June 2026

Due to a closure on Chequers Hill between 09:30-15:30, the 46 service will be unable to serve the normal route through Flamstead and will divert via the A5183. 

Please note: There will be temporary bus stops in place on the A5183, at the Chequers Hill junction.

High Street, MarkyateDate: Wednesday 25th February to Wednesday 10th June 2026

Service affected: 46

Due to a closure on the High Street, the 46 service will be unable to serve the normal route through Markyate and will need to divert via the A5183, in both directions.

Please note, the closure will be lifted between 1st May and 2nd June! 

Times of closure: 
Monday to Fridays 08:00 to 22:00
Saturdays 09:00 to 16:00
Sundays 10:00 to 16:00

Bus Stops missed: Plume of Feathers P.H, Long Meadow, Fire Station, and Cavendish Road stops on the High Street. Passengers should use the stops on the bypass to board and alight the 46 service.

Stonesby Road, StonesbyDate: Monday 8th to Monday 15th June 2026

Service Affected: LC3

Due to a closure on Stonesby Road, the LC3 will be unable to operate the normal route and will operate as followed. 

From Melton Mowbray - it will operate the normal line of route from Melton Mowbray to School Hill, Sproxton, but instead of turning left onto Stonesby Road to Stonesby, it will turn right onto Saltby road into Saltby, back on its normal line of route. 

From Grantham - it will operate the reverse of the above. 

Stops missed: Saltby Road in Sproxton and the Green in Stonesby.
