Following a network review and the opening of Leighton Leisure and Community Centre on Briggington Way, we will be making changes to the Leighton Buzzard Routes from Sunday 21st June 2026, including South Bedfordshire Dial a Ride journeys on L5. Changes are as followed: 

Route L1 (railway station / town centre – Kestrel Way – Theedway – Grovebury Retail Park) will have a new timetable, but there will be no change to the route / stops served. An evening and Sunday service will be introduced, replacing current evening route L3 and Sunday route L6. Evening buses will not serve Grovebury Retail Park.

The timetables, shaped by resident feedback and input from key local groups and organisations, along with the 3 Horizon workshop - A group exercise to explore how buses can best serve the town, will maintain bus services in Leighton Buzzard and Linslade. 

Peak-time journeys to and from Leighton Buzzard Railway Station are enhanced, providing better connectivity for commuters. Additionally, there is improve links with faster trains to London, making travel more convenient. 

School transport connections will be strengthened, ensuring a more reliable service for pupils. Journey times will be adjusted to be more realistic, helping to improve punctuality and reliability across the network. Evening and Sunday services will be retained, while a later Saturday evening departure has been introduced in response to community requests. 

Centrebus do not operate the 47, 150, 165, X2, X3, or X4 services. Please see Central Bedfordshire's website for more details.

To make things easier for passengers, there will be NEW Leighton Buzzard Zonal Tickets available! 

The Leighton Buzzard Day, 7 Day, and 28 Day tickets will give you unlimited travel anywhere on the L1, L2, L4, L5 services! 

Not a regular traveller, that is perfectly fine! You can purchase Single tickets on the bus with one of our lovely drivers using cash or Contactless Pay. Adults will pay no more than £2.50 per journey and children no more than £2 per journey. 

Please note, the 28 Day tickets are only available on the Centrebus App.
