Changes to bus services in Luton and Bedfordshire

From Sunday 3rd September 2017, we’re making changes to some of our buses in Luton and Dunstable. Our Luton and Dunstable network offers connections to work, shopping and education across Luton, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We aim to offer a punctual service across all of our routes and routinely review punctuality for our services through GPS tracking data, ticket machine records and roadside punctuality audits conducted by our local inspectors.

In the past three years, we have invested heavily in brand new buses for our Luton depot. British built, the buses feature comfortable seating, environmentally friendly engines and modern interiors. We’ve continued to offer great value fares within the Luton and Dunstable Zone, our Carbonara smartcard offers a week’s travel within Dunstable for £13 or ten trips for £15; just £1.50 per trip.

The latest service changes are designed to ensure that our services remain punctual, despite increased congestion within Luton and Dunstable. The changes will also match our customer’s travel patterns and form a network which is in tune with the needs of our customers.

10 Luton - Marsh Farm

 What is changing?

Our 10 service is our busiest route, with buses up to every 7 minutes during weekdays. We introduced 8 brand new buses for the service in 2014 and passenger numbers continue to grow year on year. We’re making changes to the 05:43 journey from Marsh Farm, which will be retimed to maintain the onward connection on our 366 service to Wheathampstead. We’re also making changes to our 10A service to match customer demand. The 10A will now operate on weekdays only and will no longer operate on Saturdays.

 Why is it changing?

We’ve taken on board customer feedback and will be retiming the early 05:43 journey to maintain onward connections. Due to low passenger numbers the 10A service will be withdrawn on Saturdays.
