Changes to bus services in Leicester City and Market Harborough

As you’re well aware, congestion in Leicester City Centre is increasing. Following a review of our services using GPS tracking machine data and ticket machine records, we’re making a number of changes to services within Leicester to improve reliability and increase punctuality. We're also making changes to our 44 service following customer feedback. So far in 2017 we’ve invested in three modern Optare Versa British built buses for our Leicester depot, with two further refurbished buses joining the fleet in Summer 2017. These newer vehicles and revised timetables are intended to improve your experience when travelling with us.

22A/B Birstall - City Centre - Evington

 What is changing?

Our 22A/B/C services are busy routes connecting Evington and Birstall with Leicester City Centre and Leicester Rail Station. At peak times, we’ve noticed that the service can become delayed, so we’re introducing a revised timetable.

 Why is it changing?

To improve reliability on the service we’re revising the timetable across the day, frequency is unchanged, but there are minor changes to the times buses depart.

40 Circleline

 What is changing?

Following the investment of four brand new British built minibuses in 2016, with free wifi, modern interiors and low emission engines, we’re looking to further improve our 40 circleline service. There will be a revised timetable from the 27th August. Not only have the newer buses improved travelling with us, they’ve also improved reliability on the service.

The 40 circleline service operates through some of the most congested parts of Leicester and to improve reliability we’re making changes to the timetable The frequency remains the same, but with adjustments to journey times at peak periods.

Why is it changing? We're looking to improve our service and reliability during peak periods.

44 Fleckey - Market Harborough - Foxton

 What is changing?

Our 44 service is a popular connection between Market Harborough and Gartree Prison. We're retiming one morning journey to better serve Gartree Prison.

Why is it changing? We've taken on board feedback from customers and we hope this minor change will benefit those travelling to Gartree Prison.

54A Anstey - Beaumont Leys - City Centre - Goodwood

 What is changing?

Our 54A service is one of our most popular routes, but we recognise that at times our services have been running behind schedule. Our Anstey extension has proven popular since we instated it and has been well used.

We’re revising the timetable with additional running time during the weekdays. On Saturdays, the service will run to a revised timetable. There will now be additional buses to Anstey, with all buses continuing to Anstey from Beaumont Leys. Buses will run every 15 minutes from The Nook and every 30 minutes to St James Gate. From this date, we’ll also be serving more of Anstey, completing the Link Road loop every 30 minutes. You can find out more about the change in the timetable below. Revised maps will shortly be available.

Why is it changing? We're looking to improve our service to Anstey on Saturdays to match customer demand and to improve our timekeeping during peak periods
